Working Principle
The flake ice evaporator is a key component of the flake ice machine, with a vertical cylindrical structure. It consists of the following main ice making components:
Ice making drum, blades, main shaft, water distribution tray, water blocking plate, etc.
Their movement is coordinated by a reducer, which rotates counterclockwise at low speed. Water is sprayed into the water distribution tray, which evenly distributes the water onto the frozen surface of the evaporator. The formed water film exchanges heat with the low-temperature refrigerant inside the evaporator, forming a thin layer of ice on the freezing surface of the evaporator. The thin ice is crushed into ice sheets and falls into the ice storage box through the ice drop hole of the evaporator.
The unfrozen water returns to the cold water tank of the evaporator and is pumped into the water distribution tray for the next ice making cycle.

1. Evaporator processing technology
*The evaporator adopts a spiral refrigerant chamber design, which ensures that the refrigerant oil mixed in the refrigerant gas returns to the compressor compared to other designs. At the same time, the dry evaporation method of SICECOLD evaporator can eliminate the impact damage of the compressor.
*After proper welding, the refrigerant chamber of the evaporator will undergo annealing and stress relief heat treatment, effectively eliminating the hidden danger of evaporator deformation.
*Chromium plating on the freezing surface of the evaporator (limited to carbon steel) can improve hardness and wear resistance.
2. Ice blade processing and handling

Ice skates are made by processing a single stainless steel rod into a spiral scraper. Compared to welding ice skates, it has higher strength. SICECOLD ice skates do not experience internal stress caused by welding. The spiral shaped ice blade evenly acts on the frozen surface of the evaporator, significantly extending the service life of the ice blade and evaporator.
